KL launches "Theft" campaign with Proofpoint

KL today launched its highly focused "Theft" marketing campaign in partnership with Proofpoint.  Targeted at the highly unstable and beleagured Financial Services market, the campaign highlights the risks to business undergoing change of malicious data loss. 

"There are few more valuable assets in a company than its data," explains KL's Managing Director, Kieran Lees. "The temptation for employees to disseminate confidential data is high.  This could be as a result of dissatisfaction, anger, frustration or plain revenge for job insecurity.  However, with the prevalence of criminal elements offering significant financial reward for stolen data, the temptation to pass on sensitive or confidential information is huge.  People do strange things under stress, and the current financial and personal stress for many employees is more than enough to make them do things that they would otherwise not even consider."

The campaign raises awareness of the real risk to the company - that of data leaving through the email gateways.  Most companies have no idea just how much of their information - and their customer's confidential details! - are actually floating around the internet illegally.  If caught, the damage to the company concerned is significant - reputation, trust, litigation, director's liability.

Customer's responding to the campaign will be offered a 10 day, free-of-charge "Health Check" to ascertain just what data is leaving the organisation "unauthorised".  These checks are non-invasive, but enormously informative.
